This essay requires answering two questions clearly. A common mistake is only answering one question. Some students don’t read the question fully and just list advantages or disadvantages. Another issue is confusing singular and plural forms, so be careful.

The prompt asks if wealthy nations should share their wealth for food and education or if governments should handle it. IELTS doesn’t focus on your personal beliefs but on your ability to answer the questions. You won’t be penalized for differing opinions. Focus on providing a clear, well-structured answer to score well.

Introduction

It is said that developed countries have a greater obligation to provide food and education to economically struggling countries. Some suggest that it is the responsibility of the government to provide these needs for their citizens. I believe that countries with strong economies should do this more as a moral obligation and also for political reasons. Governments in such countries cannot always provide support, so it is better for one government to train others on how to do it properly.

Just like in a big family, where financially stable members should support those in need, the same applies to countries. Although there is no law requiring developed countries to share food and education with poorer nations, it is a moral responsibility. This is part of what makes humanity better. Additionally, it is politically advantageous for countries to provide food and education, as this can lead to potential alliances and future benefits. For example, the United States, through its globalization efforts, provides food and education to other countries. Over time, these countries have become reliable allies, leading to more freedom, peace, and order.

Although governments of poorer nations should be responsible for their own people, they often lack the capability or face restrictions that prevent them from helping themselves. Many of these countries are still learning how to manage their systems. For instance, after gaining independence in the 18th century, the United States went through many trials and errors. Now, with nearly 250 years of experience, the U.S. is able to help other nations with its established government system. An example of this is the aid provided by the U.S. after World War II. Countries like South Korea and Japan were introduced to American business practices, which helped them flourish over time. Despite political or ideological differences, this strategy allowed these countries to develop and become some of the most developed nations in the world.

Conclusion

In conclusion, wealthy countries have a moral obligation to help poorer nations. While it is the responsibility of each government to take care of its own country, it cannot be denied that assistance from experienced nations can help others flourish more quickly, avoiding the need for trial and error.
