IELTS Writing – Music – Version 01

There is a diverse range of music in today’s world, and music serves as a unique form of communication, allowing us to convey emotions through a blend of melodies. While international music enjoys widespread popularity, the significance of traditional music in shaping a particular culture should not be overlooked.

Music serves as a powerful medium for expressing emotions and breaking through linguistic barriers. Through the right combination of melody, harmony, and rhythm, we can intensify the impact of our emotions. Sometimes, a simple expression of love may fall short in words, but a symphony can convey the message with greater strength. This holds true for various emotions, including sadness, where the right lyrics and tune can deeply express sorrow. Music plays a crucial role in connecting people on a much deeper level than many other communication tools available.

Despite the prevalence of international music, traditional music holds a unique importance as it reflects and reinforces cultural bonds. Traditional instruments contribute to creating a sense of connection, triggering memories of childhood for many. The familiarity of traditional music during childhood extends to older generations, fostering a shared cultural experience. Hearing these tunes can evoke similar memories and ideas across different ages, particularly within a specific country or region. This cultural connection enhances our desire to interact with others, bridging gaps through auditory experiences.

In conclusion, while there is a vast array of music available, from local to international, traditional music holds particular importance. It allows us to connect with our roots, emphasizing the crucial role of music in transcending communication beyond linguistic capabilities.

IELTS Writing – Music – Version 02

Music has evolved into numerous branches that have spread across the world, and its significance lies in its ability to facilitate communication irrespective of language barriers. While traditional music holds importance, particularly for people within a specific region, it is international music that enables global communication.

Music serves as a means of communication, acting as a universal language even in a world dominated by English as the global lingua franca. Despite diverse language lyrics, the melody and tune convey a message that can be easily understood by people worldwide. This is especially evident in the realm of social media, where individuals may not comprehend the lyrics but can dance and enjoy the music, recognizing the emotions conveyed—whether happiness, humor, or sadness. This represents an advanced and transcendent form of communication through music, surpassing language limitations.

Traditional music plays a crucial role in connecting people to their roots, fostering a sense of community. However, international music transcends historical, political, and geographical boundaries, linking individuals globally. The amalgamation of different music styles allows for the learning of diverse cultures. In today’s complex musical landscape, where genres blend and evolve, it becomes challenging to pinpoint the origin of a particular piece, reflecting the globalization of music. Music that was once exclusive to the West can now be embraced and understood by people in the East, symbolizing a river of new ideas.

In conclusion, with the ongoing evolution of music, its importance has become more pronounced than ever. It serves as a medium to establish connections and bonds among people, not only on a local scale but also internationally. Despite the significance of traditional music, it is international music that facilitates global creation and collaboration.
