IELTS Writing Task 1 Academic – Cement Making V.1.1
Paragraph 01 – Introduction and Overview / Paragraph 02 – Cement Production / Paragraph 03 – Concrete Production
The first diagram delineates the various stages in cement production, while the second illustrates the process of concrete production for construction. Overall, cement creation involves four major steps, whereas concrete only requires two.
To initiate the cement production process, two-thirds of limestone and one-third clay are required. Initially, they will be pulverized using a crusher and subsequently fed into a large canister for mixing. Following this, the mixture undergoes heating in a rotating heater using a flame as the heat source, resulting in a melted blend of limestone and clay. Subsequently, using a grinder, these melted minerals are further ground into fine particles, culminating in cement ready for packaging.
In the case of concrete production, half of the mixture comprises gravel (small stones), followed by a quarter of sand, a tenth of water, and the remaining portion is cement. All these minerals are then placed in a device known as a concrete mixer, where they undergo thorough mixing until they are ready for use in construction purposes. (167 Words)
